Metrodome Games

GAMES

  1. Game dates, times and parings will be listed on the OMGFA web site. Parings for the Metrodome games will be based on final season standings.  Season standing tie-breakers are based on head to head record and if needed fewest total points allowed during season. In the event the teams do not have a head to head record or if more than two teams are tied and they do not have a balanced or equal number of head to head records fewest total points allowed during season will be used. For games not played, average points allowed per game played will be used for each not played game.
  2. Results of each Metrodome game will determine final season standings. First Place awards will be given to the winner of the 1st vs 2nd place game, 2nd place awards will be given to the loser of the 1st vs 2nd place game, 3rd Place awards will be given to the winner of the 3rd vs 4th Place games. Participation awards will be given to all other teams.
  3. Football shoes may be worn on the new field turf. All players must be in full uniform (locker rooms not available).
  4. Roster information (team name, sponsor name (if any), player numbers and names, in number order and coach’s names) for the P.A. announcer shall be as posted on teams web page.
  5. Teams can bring coolers, pop, treats etc. A concession stand will also be open.
  6. Teams may gather at end zone sidelines away from field and benches for pre-game warm-ups no sooner than 30 minutes prior to game time. Teams must be lined up and ready to play at the thirty yard lines in jersey number order 5 minutes prior to starting time.
  7. Only players, coaches (limited to 4 per team)and down-marker volunteers will be allowed on the field. No exceptions. 
  8. Pictures may be taken on the field in the end-zone corners before or after the game by coaches only.
  9. Awards will be given to each head coach at the end of each game. Teams must move to end zone corners immediately after the game for a brief medal presentation.
  10. Home teams (with higher standing) will be on the near sideline, away teams on the far sideline. Down-marker team shall be provided by the away team and be on the away sideline.
  11. Coin-toss: To be performed prior to game time by league official, team captains and head coaches.

RULES

Due to the limited time available for each game the following rules will be strictly enforced.

  1. 3th –6th Grade: 12 minute running time quarters (clock does not stop for touchdowns, penalties, injuries, 1st downs or extra points). Stop time last 2 minutes of each half. During stop time, the clock will stop for time outs, incomplete passes, touchdowns, extra points and out of bounds; clock will not stop for first downs or injuries. Clock will resume on ensuing snap (non-punt or kick play) or when the ball is punted or kicked.
  2. 1 -1 minute time-outs per team during last 2 minutes of each half (time-outs not allowed during running time). First half time-outs do not carryover to the second half.
  3. Switch ends only at half time. 2-minute half time, 1-minute quarter breaks.
  4. Games ending in ties will stand except 1st and 2nd place games will be decided by 4 plays from 10 yds (plus extra points). If still tied season head to head score totals will be used.
